Since its foundation in 2006 the law firm of Vergara, Fernández, Costa & Claro headquartered in Santiago, Chile, aims at delivering a personalized service to their clients, offering highly qualified advice to support their needs, and proposing original, effective, solutions to overcome in a quick way the legal challenges these face.

Initially our firm specialized in providing corporate advice as well as litigation services to a portfolio of real estate companies as well as clients from the salmon industry. This was due to the broad expertise in those areas brought by Cristóbal Vergara, Alvaro Costa and Sergio Fernandez, the firm founding partners.

In 2008, Gloria Claro, with vast experience in corporate insurance, regulatory matters, product design, reinsurance and outsourcing of insurance services, became partner. It was in 2010 that Vergara Fernández Costa y Claro insurance practice played a prominent role in solving high and complex insurance claims derived from the massive 8.9 earthquake that shook Chile.

Our office insurance practice now oversees major insurance matters from strategic Chilean industries, such as the energy, ports, infrastructure and transport, industrial and manufacturing sectors, among others.

Over the years, Vergara Fernández Costa & Claro has experienced significant growth, and presently also offers specialized advice in tax law, as well as in labor and employment issues, areas of practice which we have strengthened with a litigation area, thereby resulting in a full service to our clients.
